My Woman Cave

All men have or at least majority of them out there want a Man Cave. My husband is no exception. He has our bonus room and has had it since the day we moved into our house 10 years ago. Being a mom as well I kind of just let Marcus take over the living room and I guess you can say that I have never really had a space in the house that was just mine. That was until now!

I'm so excited - it's been a long haul and after a 2 year renovation it's 95% done and I have my own dream craft space. Terry has been hilarious with it and not only building me my furniture insisting that I get more. Who am I to argue. IKEA CHARGE IT! Yes Eryn I am in need of a IKEA intervention!

My space has turned out to be my dream space - it's just how I envisioned it.

This is my blank canvas

The storage that Terry built from IKEA

It's starting to look great

Terry insisted more storage space - bought me more! :)
My desk is a drafting table I got at Michael's

I painted my old bulletin board to match my furniture and doesn't my BIG BUG look great there!

I truly think every woman should have space where they can feel happy and a place to dream. The rest of the room will be done shortly and it's a place where there is room for some of my great friends that can come and create with me.  This space is my WOMAN CAVE!

Back 2 school

It's that time of year again where every parent is singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year". I am happy it's Back to school but I'm not. This year not only does Marcus go into grade 5 but my husband will be teaching full time and being a full time student. I guess that makes me a crazy mom/wife for the next 2 years. I'm ok with it though because I may get some extra crafting done while he is cracking open the books.

I started to craft again after a long hiatus. It's been great and here is a BACK TO SCHOOL WREATH. I love it and in fact have to make another as I gave this to a wonderful teacher at my son's school and it was so easy to do.

Haven't scrapped in so long

I haven't scrapped in what seems like forever.  That makes me sad. So last Sunday my friend Heather who is recovering from surgery asked me over, along with my friend Eryn. What could be better? A drop by visit to Heather's by my life long BFF Diana! :) Now if I could only get my other BFF Jill to come scrap with us then I would be even more excited!

At Heather's I didn't do as much as I wanted, I never do when we are all together as we are usually too busy socializing.  A lot of my scrapping stuff is boxed up as our basement carpet is getting put in sometime soon, or at least I hope soon! But I did get 4 cards done. It was great to feel paper and such in my hands again!

GYPSY

I'm so excited.

For my birthday last week my amazing fantastic husband bought me a Gypsy and 4 cartridges.

Now to figure out how to use it. And I will along with my scrap soul sistas Eryn and Heather. (They both got one too).

So stayed too for some creations.

Present a gift card

Today I attended the baby shower of a very special person. A few of us decided to go in on a gift certificate. I wanted to present it in a different way other than a card. After searching I found a fantastic idea at  Tx Scrapper Mom, if you have never checked her blog please do. She does amazing work.

So here's my take on the gift card present which was a huge hit at the shower.

I used my cricut to cut the duck - I just got Seasme Street so Ernie's rubber ducky was perfect for this, because you know Rubber ducky is the one! ;)

Subway Art

I belong to an on-line scrapbooking group where I have met so many talented ladies.  One of them, Marie had created some beautiful Subway Art. I loved it so much I decided to make it for my sister Susan and hubby Kevin for Christmas.

This is it.

Isn't it great - I think that this would be make a great wedding gift or a nice Valentine's Day gift.
